Tarihteki tüm takvimlerin ortak noktası nedir? Tarihte ilk medeniyetler olarak anılmakta olan ve oldukça geçmiş zamanlarda kurulmuş olan Sümerler, Mısırlılar, Çin ve Mayalılar ayrı ayrı takvimlere sahiptir. Ayrı ayrı takvim çeşitlerine sahip olmalarına rağmen aslında her birinin ortak nokta olarak aldığı araç ve gereçler vardır. Bunlardan ikisi de güneş ve ay gezegenleriydi. Farklı gezegenlere göre alınan takvimler de medeniyetlerin başlangıcından bitişlerine dek varlığını sürdürmeye devam ederdi. Aynı zamanda tarihte gelişen bazı takvimlerin ortak noktalarında şunlar da vardı;
- Takım yıldızları,
- Zodyak sistemi,
- Gözlem evleri
Bu sistemlere bağlı olarak da geliştirilen ve ortak nokta olarak hayata geçirilen takvimler mevcuttur. Eski dönemlerden bu yana takvimlerin kullanımı devam etmekte ve modern olarak kullanılan takvimler de günümüzde tarih ve zamanları takip etmemize yardımcı olmaktadır. Tarih ve Sosyal Bilgiler derslerinde çocukların gelişim kazanımına dair de bilinmesi gereken bu takvimler daha çok ay ve güneş dönümlerine göre esas alınır.

Tarihteki tüm takvimlerin ortak noktası nedir? Sorusuna genellikle Tarih ve Sosyal Bilgiler dersleri kapsamında anıt aranmaktadır. Geçmişten günümüze kullanılan takvimler ise ortak noktalarıyla birlikte şu şekilde sıralanır;
- On İki Hayvanlı Türk Takvimi,
- Hicri Takvim,
- Celali Takvimi,
- Rumi Takvim,
- Miladi Takvim
Her bir takvim çeşidini esas aldığı ay yılı ve güneş yılları mevcuttur. Eski dönemlerden bu yana takvimler mali işlerde kullanılmak amacıyla tasarlanmış ve tarihi takip etmede önemli bir rol almıştır.
